California Public Domain Allottee Association

OUR GOALS
Members of the public domain allotment community formed the California Public Domain Allottee Association (CAPDAA) in 2018 to help provide a unified and coherent voice for Native public domain allottees. CAPDAA is a California nonprofit corporation and a tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Federal Internal Revenue Code. We are honored to have an all-Native Board of Directors.

EDUCATE
CAPDAA educates allottees about the legal, political, and ecological landscape of allotments in California.

ADVOCATE
CAPDAA works with allottees and allied organizations to advocate for the needs of allottees.

PROTECT
CAPDAA works to protect the natural landscapes of allotments as well as the interests of allottees.

ADAPT
CAPDAA faces the challenges of climate change head on and helps allottees adapt to the new climactic landscape.

CONNECT
CAPDAA builds a coalition of allottees and allied organizations from across the state.

EMPOWER
Through each of the goals above, CAPDAA empowers allottees to exercise their rights as Native peoples.
